With Zoom on BRAVIA TVs, users will be able to take advantage of all the features that make Zoom one of the leading video communication platforms. This includes video communication on a TV screen, screen sharing, and collaboration tools. Users will also be able to use BRAVIA CAM’s advanced features – it recognises where you are in the room and how far you are from the TV, then adjusts sound and picture settings so they’re just right. All of that is possible with a very simple setup – when using a compatible TV with a BRAVIA CAM, it only takes downloading the Zoom app from Google Play and launching it with the TV’s remote.

Centered on the theme of ‘Virtuous Innovation’, OPPO is looking to recruit proposals under two entry categories — Accessible Technology and Digital Health. Following the evaluation of proposals submitted by participating teams or individuals, up to ten proposals will be awarded grants of USD $46,000 each, as well as further opportunities for investment opportunities, technical support, research and commercial partnerships, and promotion at global events.

Grants and technical support aim to help promising entrepreneurs realize their visions
The 2022 Innovation Accelerator will open online applications beginning May 8, 2022, and winners will be announced after three months of preliminary evaluations and Demo Day roadshows. OPPO will provide all winning teams or individuals with a financial grant, as well as support to help them further implement and promote their ideas. Each winning proposal will be entitled to the following incentives:
● Approximately USD $46,000 (300,000 RMB) in grants
● Partnership and funding opportunities
● Commercialization of the proposed via integration with OPPO products
● Publicity and demo opportunities at global tech events
● Support from OPPO’s R&D team including opportunities to meet and present ideas to industry professionals

Proposals will be evaluated under the supervision of a professional Judging Committee, where they will be assessed against their ability to meet four key criteria: Feasibility, Innovation & Originality, Social Value, and Long-term Potential. OPPO also invited a judging committee of experts, academics, and senior professionals in the field of technology and innovation to help identify and accelerate the development of high-potential proposals.

OPPO has also established a separate referral award to encourage members of the public to refer outstanding innovation cases for consideration by the Innovation Accelerator Judging Committee. Members of the public can submit referrals through the OPPO website during the application stage, with prizes available for every successful proposal that makes it through the preliminary evaluation, Demo Day, and finalist stages.

In addition, OPPO is planning international roadshows in locations including Hyderabad, India and the United States.

The “Together Apart” Hackathon aim is to accelerate the journey towards a more connected future and solving global challenges by working with innovators, disruptors, and creative people of the UAE to build technology-based solutions aligned with the UAE Vision 2021. Participants from across the UAE were invited to contribute their innovative solutions, showcasing the power of connectivity and 5G, while taking inspiration from the six broad themes of UAE Vision 2021 – World Class Healthcare, First Rate Education System, Competitive Knowledge and Digital Economy, Sustainable Environment and Infrastructure, Safe Public and Road Safety, and Cohesive Society and Preserved Identity.

The finalists presented their solutions in front of the judging committee which selected six winners. Members of the judging committee consisted of senior representatives from the public and private sector including BecanWellness Solutions, Du, Dubai Future Foundation, Ericsson, Etisalat, Nasdaq and SOMA MATER.

The winning solutions are: Hayaa, RenAIssance, Insights, Organic Chain, Mindspire. The VISION AVTR was presented to the public at GITEX alongside the new EQS; the pioneering Mercedes-EQ model is redefining the progressive luxury and all-electric market in the region and spearheading Mercedes-Benz’s ambition to establish a fully electric fleet of vehicles by the end of the decade.

The VISION AVATAR,  a true vision for the future of mobility, was developed by Mercedes-Benz in collaboration with the filmmakers of AVATAR. The car’s conception merged with Mercedes-Benz’s prediction of radical new trends in mobility that will dictate the form and function of tomorrow’s vehicles.  It combines the disciplines of interior, exterior and UX design on an unprecedented scale.

The car’s distinctive inside-out styling was inspired by creatures from the AVATAR film, represented in its organic yet functional ‘One Bow’ shape and natural design language. Instead of a steering wheel, a multifunctional control element in the centre console allows man and machine to merge.

By placing a hand on the control unit, the car’s interior comes to life. By lifting a hand a menu selection is projected onto the palm, which can be used to skip between in-car functions such as real-time 3D graphics to explore AVATAR’s fictional world of Pandora.

The car’s seats are made from vegan DINAMICA leather, the first microfiber that guarantees environmental sustainability throughout the entire production cycle, and the floor is decorated with an innovative wood called Karuun. The raw material for Karuun naturally grows very fast and is harvested by hand in Indonesia. This gives the interior a warmth that radiates a connection with the natural world.
