The agreement seeks to support businesses and enterprises owned and managed by women in Abu Dhabi by offering exclusive deals, packages, and discounts to Council members. Additionally, it facilitates the promotion of local, artisanal, and creative products, as well as specialized services from women-owned businesses within the Council, leveraging Rotana Hotels’ extensive presence as a key hospitality and tourism hub in the UAE.

Her Excellency Asma Al Fahim, Chairwoman of the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council, emphasized the Council’s commitment to strengthening collaboration and forging strategic partnerships with both public and private sector entities. She stated:

The exhibition, which is a part of the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council’s Mubdi’ah program, will see the participation of more than 30 Emirati Female entrepreneurs who hold a “Mubdi’ah” license. The license allows them to conduct commercial activities from their homes and aims to support the ideas and initiatives of female citizens to invest in private projects.

The organization of the Mubdi’ah – Ramadan and Eid 2024 exhibition is a result of the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council’s commitment to supporting up-and-coming small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and establishments owned and managed by Emirati Female entrepreneurs. This event is also part of the Council’s diligent initiatives that enable female innovators in Abu Dhabi to develop their businesses, promote their products, and strengthen their network of commercial relationships, in line with the government’s visions and directives for advancing the vital entrepreneurship sector.

The program, which extended over three days, supported 20 startups launched by female entrepreneurs by offering multiple services and incentives, including training and coaching sessions led by industry experts, and assigning specialised mentors to each startup. It also featured a variety of sessions, workshops, and guest speakers, to ensure that all participants gain valuable knowledge and skills.

The program covered a range of key topics, which are key for accelerating businesses and driving their growth. These include Design Thinking; Marketing Strategy & Branding; Financial Modeling & Basics; Pitch Deck Development; Pitch Deck Refinement, and Startup Pitch with Selection Committee.

The program comes following an MoU, which was signed earlier this year between the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council and Flat6Labs. Under the terms of the MoU, the two parties will organise workshops to introduce the members of the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council to Flat6Labs’ services and financing programs, and provide them with the required guidance by coaches and experts to advance their business. The MoU also aims to provide women entrepreneurs with a platform to participate in the Flat6Labs Ignite program and have a chance to get financial rewards, as well as organise competitions for entrepreneurs in the technology field, which brings about mutual benefits for both sides.

The meeting included presentations about prospects of cooperation, in the light, tourism, food production, construction, and creative industries, and the benefits of investing in Abu Dhabi.
